CORRESPONDENCE
1. The secretary brought the new community website itmatters2me.com to the attention of members, and indicated that there was now a link on it to Rendlesham W.I.
2. She reminded members that SEFWI are raffling a quilt, pictured on the front of the November edition of SEFWI News: members purchasing tea/coffee in February will be given a free entry to the draw.
3. No interest has been expressed in entering the nationally organised Healthy Lifestyle Challenge.

SUFFOLK SHOW

The President outlined the various competition classes being run by the W.I. for the 2008 Suffolk Show, and invited members who would like to make an entry to contact her or the secretary.

BUSINESS & REMINDERS

1. Judith outlined the plan for a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in the village, and informed members that PCSO Terry Barrow will speak briefly about the proposal at the beginning of our meeting in February.
2. The President asked members who had not yet signed our tablecloth to do, and invited anyone so interested to be responsible for decorating one of the corners. Suggestions for appropriate designs are the W.I. tree logo and the SEFWI windmill. A further corner could be the site for a design for a new village sign - if a good idea emerged, it could be presented to the Parish Council as a proposal for adoption.
3. The President thanked those who had already volunteered to provide savouries or sweets for the Spring Group Meeting at Bromeswell on Friday, March 28th and encouraged others to contribute - reasonable expenses will be available. We will also need “washers-up”, who could be either members or friends.
4. Scrabble Club meets 2 p.m. 16th January at the Angel Studio, Bentwaters Park. Ann Beadle explained that, from March, the Club will meet in a room to the rear of St. Felix Church.
5. There is an opportunity for 1 or 2 new members of the Book Group - interested members please speak to Jenny.

SPEAKER
Mr Michael Stagg spoke to us about “images of Suffolk”, accompanying his talk with many beautiful and fascinating slides of Suffolk ancient and modern. His presentation was clearly very much appreciated by members.

CLOSURE
The President thanked Eve, Pat Row and Katharine for organizing tonight’s refreshments, and Judith for delivering the Reminders newsletter..

THE NEXT MEETING will take place on February 19th, 2008..
