RECORD OF MONTHLY MEETING OF RENDLESHAM W.I. HELD
AT ST FELIX CHURCH ON TUESDAY 20th MARCH 2007

PRESENT
25 members and 2 guests attended.

WELCOME Maureen welcomed everyone to our new venue and asked all attendees to sign the register, collect badges and SEFWI News. Birthday posies were given out.
The location of the toilets, kitchen and fire exits were pointed out. Members were advised that it is inappropriate to hold a raffle in church so from now on refreshments will cost £1 and will come with a free strip of draw tickets.

THE RECORD
of the meeting held on 20th February was not read but made available for members to read during social time.

CORRESPONDENCE

1)Details were given of a planned trip to Gardeners World Live on 13/14th June.
2)Details were given of the next Group meeting at Hollesley Village Hall on 22nd May at 7 pm.
3)Caroline asked anyone if they would like a copy of the “Think Twice” publication from SCC Trading Standards Dept providing consumer and safety advice.
4)Details were given of the Jill Freud and Company theatre season at Aldeburgh and Southwold.
5)Other events in SEFWI News were brought to member’s attention, especially the Communications Cup event on 23rd July in which we are represented by Jenny F.

FEDERATION AGM
Ann Horn gave us a resume of the day’s events at the AGM which took place at the Suffolk Showground on 6th March

FUNDRAISING
Maureen advised members that we will be having stall at various local events throughout the year, the first one being at RAF Woodbridge on 30th June. Donations of unwanted gifts or craft items were requested.

PLANNED OUTINGS
Ann Beadle advised that the outing to Radio Suffolk had been fixed for July 2nd.
A visit to Bawdsey Manor has been fixed for 17th May at 2pm for up to 20 people at a cost of £15 for the tour and tea. A £5 deposit was requested from those members attending.
Other events planned include a boat trip on the Orwell Lady in August, a trip to the vineyard at Framlingham in September and the Snape Christmas Spectacular.


ANY OTHER BUSINESS
·Maureen requested that Suffolk Show entries to be judged by members be brought to the next meeting so we can make our selections as to which will go forward to represent us
·We have received £50 worth of raffle tickets to sell for NFWI. Anyone interested in purchasing some was asked to contact Pam
·Ann B has kindly donated a tablecloth which we will all sign at the next meeting. Maureen will then embroider the names on to keep as a permanent record.

DEMONSTRATION
Kerry Johnson demonstrated a facial using Virgin Vie products which were then available to buy

REFRESHMENTS AND FREE DRAW
Thanks to Pat Row, Karen Smith and Val Edwards for preparing the refreshments.

THE NEXT MEETING will take place on Tuesday 17th April at 7 p.m. and the talk will be entitled “The World of optical Illusions” by Colin Hopper. Refreshments to be prepared by Ann Shaw, Ruth Chestney and Nicola Foreman.
